Learn morePatricia Tate, a member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona, serves as chief financial officer for the tribe's two casinos. Tate, 39, oversees the largest Indian gaming enterprise in the state. The tribe recently opened the $440 million Talking Stick Resort amid the worst recession in decades. 'We can offer guests amenities and options that are unmatched and unparalleled in the state,' Tate told The Arizona Republic. Tate's background is in accounting. She previously worked for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. 'It's an interesting blend of government and for-profit accounting,' Tate said of her work in the tribal gaming industry.
